Waving Goodbye in Love - The Last Journey in My Life
Heart of Hope Asian American Hospice Care has published a bilingual Chinese/English "Waving Goodbye in Love - The Last Journey in My Life" to provide education to terminally ill patients and family members. This handbook is written by Blanche Chen, LCSW, Co-Founder, and Pauline Nee, RN, Advisor, of the hospice. The handbook uses a first person's narration of a terminally ill patient to describe the changes taking place in the body, mind, and spirit of the last 6 months in life. The handbook shows ways of communication between the patient and his/her loved ones, so that they can understand the possible physical manifestations, states of consciousness, portraits of moods and final expectations, so that the patient can have dignity, be respected, and can bid farewell to his/her families and friends in peace. If you think this handbook might be useful for you or your friends and wish to purchase one, please make a $8.50 check to Heart of Hope to cover the cost ($5), sale tax, and postage, and mail it to Heart of Hope, 1922 The Alameda, Suite 215, San Jose, CA 95126. Your extra donation to support the printing of the handbook is greatly appreciated.
